Rehburg-Loccum

The city of Rehburg-Loccum was emalgamated from the towns of Bad Rehburg, Loccum, Münchehagen, Rehburg und Winzlar in 1974. The town of Bad Rehburg was a popular healing air-spa during the 18th and 19th centuries, and attracted royalty and many famous personalities. The city of Rehburg was founded in the 12th century. The city hall Rehburgk also dates from the same time. A Zisterzienser monastery in the township of Loccum dates back to the 11th century and offers many sights worth seeing. All the cities have kept their small-town character and each offers its own charms. The Homeland museum Rehburg displays the specific history of each part of the city and offers many additional features. The largest tourist attraction in the region, the dinosaur prints, are located in a part of the city called Münchehagen.
